AMY JANE ADAMS

Amy's latest work, which owes much to the Victorian fantastical tradition, captures not only the fine architecture of great houses, but also their history and heritage with visual references to their one-time owners and treasures. John Penrose, Writer and chairman of the arts charity The Discerning Eye
Artist & Historian Adams' fresh approach to these architectural gems is fresh and vivid, playfully decorating the beautifully drafted buildings with details from inside or hinting at its history in a cunning visual joke. It includes Vrginia Woolf's sparse writing shed at Monk's House, a gnarled portrait of Henry V111 at Petworth and the delicious barley-twist chimneys of Barrington Court to whet your colouring appetite.
Amy is an English artist, designer and author. Her bold colourful work is inspired by the Italian Renaissance, pop art and graffiti. Ultimately Amy's goal is to tell a tale of Britain's fascinating history, the myths, the legends, fairytales, eccentricity, criminality, society and politics, all within a variety of artistic forms.
So far Amy's vibrant art has been exhibited at heritage sites all over Britain from a majestic Hardwick Hall AKA 'the lantern of the north', to the oriental garden at Biddulph Grange, behind the ornate 'royal' railings at London's Rainham Hall and throughout the world famous medieval fan vaulted cloisters at Gloucester Cathedral. Amy has delighted and entertained audiences with her engaging art.
Amy established her studio in the Spring of 2011 and since then has worked on a breadth of independent and collaborative projects across multiple disciplines including fine art, fashion, publishing, heritage and curation.

Amy's latest non-fiction book Make Art with the Greats will be released 28th March 2024 (O'Mara).
Stay tuned for new drawings, a special portrait commission and a series of original linocuts.
COMING SOON is the launch of TRUTH HURTS, the artist's very own art print publishing house offering fun, quirky and affordable editions.
